did you know you can’t “POP your cherry”?  In this video i talk about:

what the hymen really is
how this myth is some sexist bullshit
and how to deal with your hymen the 1st time you have sex.

littleselfia:

She is amazing.

I’m exceptionally pissed off that this is news to me.

I’m really fucking pissed off that I did not know this and it’s my own goddamned body.

pink-mama:

I had a freaking kid and didn’t know this.

lovethroughtheairwaves:

The only reason I knew this is because of the sex talk with my Mom I had about six months ago. It’s awful how many women don’t know this about their own bodies.

ryface:

I consider myself pretty fuckin’ educated about sex, and even I didn’t fully understand what exactly the hymen was and how it works until pretty recently! No one teaches this shit! And that is FUCKED UP.

Missouri Advances ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Bill
Just two days after Tennessee advanced its infamous ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, the state of Missouri referred to committee a measure that would eliminate discussions of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in public schools, prohibit teachers from addressing bullying based on sexual orientation, and likely ban gay-straight alliances.
HB 2051 states:

170.370. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, no instruction, material, or extracurricular activity sponsored by a public school that discusses sexual orientation other than in scientific instruction concerning human reproduction shall be provided in any public school.

The bill is sponsored by Rep. Stanley Cookson (R) and has attracted 19 GOP co-sponsors, “including the two most powerful leaders in the House, Speaker Steve Tilley and Majority Leader Tim Jones (yes, the same Tim Jones who is a plaintiff in Orly Taitz’ birther lawsuits).”
PROMO, Missouri’s LGBT equality organization, describes its advancement as “a desperate tactic by frightened, bigoted, cynical individuals who are terrified at the advancement the LGBT community has made in breaking down the barriers to full and equal treatment under the law.”

This is terrifying, oh my god.

Travis Richey, the guy who plays The Inspector, is actually trying to raise the funds to produce an Inspector Spacetime web series. Only it won’t be called that for legal reasons.

If you really want to see it become a thing you can donate to his kickstarter here.

Facebook has told me some seriously horrible news. A girl in my old high school had gotten approved a mural on a school wall that was a girl, with blotches of each color of the rainbow, and was going to have all the gender signs for lesbian, gay, and straight. She had started and had half finished it, when a few people complained. She now has had her mural painted over. Plenty of people tried protesting, most of them got suspended for it. They had gotten over 300+ signatures on a petition, but no, even after she even got it approved by the head principal, it was painted over. My school is all about ‎”dont hate tolerate”, well fuck you Brick Memorial. I really hope this makes it big, my school has a TON of LGBT in it, who don’t cause any ruckus. They need to understand that times are changing. And they need to practice what they preach.
It is 2012, they ruined this poor girl’s dreams of having a mural in the school, that actually had meaning. She has amazing talent, and she should of been able to keep her artwork up, it was not going to hurt ANYONE. I hope something comes of this, and if any one has any ideas on how to get this somewhere, please contact me in someway, and please pass this story around, the more ideas the better.

One of my local news sites is conducting a poll on gay marriage— or, as I like to call it, human rights. I live in West Virginia where normal, logical, kind people can sometimes be few and far between. Tumblr, you’re good at these things and so I bring this to you. You know what to do. :)
WSAZ.COM   The poll is about midway down the page.

Oh, Tumblr. Take it from here.

weeee’re on it!

The Yeses now have 80% of the votes. But I think we can do better, don’t you?

Anyone here need a kitty?

yentaberry:

Hello friends, I am in need of temporary and forever homes for my kitties. There were 4 cats at my mother’s house and I have been able to place one of them in a forever home but two still need forever homes and another needs a temporary/foster home until I’m able to move out. I need to find them homes by MONDAY (February 13th) and it’s really stressing me out that I’m going to have to take them to a shelter where I will never see them again or know how they are doing. It’s like giving up a child/family member and I’d feel better if they were going to someone I knew. If you know of anyone in the St. Louis, Missouri area (or someone who doesn’t mind coming here to pick them up) who would like a cat please contact me via my ask box or any of the various links in my “find me” section of my sidebar. Thanks!

Now on to the cats!

This is Kimmi. She’s fifteen years old and very skinny, but has no health problems. However, I’m worried since she’s so much older than most cats in shelters it will be hard for her to find a home. She has been spayed, has all of her shots and is declawed on her front paws. She was named Kimmi because she was rescued from the middle of main street in Kimmswick, MO. She’s never known a home other than my Mom’s so it’s going to be very hard for her to understand what’s going on. She’s already very shy and would do well in a home without other pets (but she’s managed with our other cats well enough, she just really doesn’t understand what they are, as she thinks of herself as human). She has a very calm nature and is very protecting, but doesn’t require lots of attention. She’d love to be your new best friend!

Karson is nine years old and very silly. She, like Kimmi, prefers to keep to herself and would do well in a family that doesn’t already have pets. She has been spayed, is up to date on her shots and is declawed in the front. Karson does not have any serious health risks, however she has some psychological problems where when she gets nervous or is afraid she will pull her hair out (it’s more of a gradual licking, but it leaves bald spots if she’s really stressed out). She’s a big cuddler and will sleep next to you at night. She LOVES attention and will purr and nuzzle you as soon as you enter the room. I’m quite worried that in a shelter Karsey will not do well since she isn’t a baby kitten and due to her hair pulling, but in a home with lots of love I know she will thrive.

This is Kipper, he’s a 5 year old grey tabby and very lovey. I don’t need a permanent home for him, but I would love it if someone could foster him for a few months until I can afford to move out. I’d pay for food and any other supplies, I just am really attached to this baby and I’d be really upset if I had to let him go for good. Not that I don’t love the other cats, they are very sweet, but Kipper didn’t leave my side for 14 days after my surgery. It’s the kind of thing you don’t forget about easily. He has all of his shots, is neutered, declawed in the front and gets along GREAT with other cats and pets. I really am not ready to give him up and if I could find someone to watch him for me that would be awesome. The people I’m currently staying with are allergic to cats or I would just keep him here.

Again, if any of you can help me out by finding these kitties homes or simply by reblogging this post in hopes that you have followers in the St. Louis area I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
